TitleDigital Isolators IC Robust 5 ch digital ISO 4/1
Description

Analog Devices ADUM150N/151N/152N Five-Channel Digital Isolators offer a maximum 13ns propagation delay and pulse width distortion of less than 3ns at 5V operation. The data channels are independent and available in a variety of configurations. The ADUM150N/151N/152N data channels have a guaranteed data rate of 150Mbps (max.) and 3.0kVrms withstand voltage rating. In addition, the isolators provide 100kV/µs common-mode transient immunity and tight channel matching at 3.0ns maximum. The isolators operate on either side of a supply voltage ranging from 1.7V to 5.V. This capability enables voltage translation functionality across the isolation barrier and compatibility with lower voltage systems.

APPLICATIONS

General-purpose multichannel isolation Serial peripheral interface (SPI)/data converter isolation Industrial field bus isolation

The ADuM150N/ADuM151N/ADuM152N1 are 5-channel digital isolators based on Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology. Combining high speed, complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and monolithic air core transformer technology, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to alternatives such as optocoupler devices and other integrated couplers. The maximum propagation delay 13 ns with a pulse width distortion of less than 5 V operation. Channel to channel matching of propagation delay is tight 4.0 ns maximum. The ADuM150N/ADuM151N/ADuM152N data channels are independent and are available in a variety of configurations with a withstand voltage rating 3.0 kV rms (see the Ordering Guide). The devices operate with the supply voltage on either side ranging from 5.5 V, providing compatibility with lower voltage systems as well as enabling voltage translation functionality across the isolation barrier.

Unlike other optocoupler alternatives, dc correctness is ensured in the absence of input logic transitions. Two different fail-safe options are available by which the outputs transition to a predetermined state when the input power supply is not applied.
