"Using our high-performing and power-efficient Snapdragon 820A Automotive platform, Visteon's SmartCore cockpit controller can drive the instrument cluster, infotainment screen and head-up display from a single control unit, helping automakers to achieve significant complexity reduction and efficiencies while delivering the rich in-car experiences that drivers expect today."

Snapdragon 820A Automotive is an advanced automotive-grade platform available from Qualcomm Technologies. Featuring a customized Qualcomm® Kryo? CPU, Qualcomm® Hexagon? 680 DSP with Hexagon Vector eXtensions (HVX) and Qualcomm® Adreno? GPU, the Snapdragon 820A Automotive platform can support cockpit domain controllers through virtualization and high-performance GPU. Additionally, the Snapdragon 820A Automotive platform's vehicle sensor integration supports driver assistance and awareness of the vehicle's surroundings with the Snapdragon Neural Processing Engine and computer vision using the integrated DSP, integrated global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and automotive dead reckoning.

The initial application shown by Visteon at CES uses the QNX® Hypervisor 2.0 to partition, separate, and isolate safety-critical environments from non-safety critical environments reliably and securely. Visteon also has the capability to use its own hypervisor to meet different needs of automakers worldwide.

SmartCore's virtualized graphic engine runs three displays and one head-up display delivering an enhanced driver and passenger experience through a single, seamless human-machine interface (HMI). Content from different safety-critical and infotainment domains, including media applications and navigation, can be made available on all connected displays in a secure and seamless fashion.

Being shown for the first time at CES 2018, Visteon's second-generation SmartCore? cockpit domain controller is designed to integrate different domains including infotainment, instrument clusters, information and head-up displays, advanced driver assistance systems and connectivity into a single electronic control unit (ECU) ? providing a foundation that is scalable from assisted to autonomous driving applications.

Visteon is scheduled to launch the first SmartCore?-based solution in 2018 on a high-volume, global vehicle platform with a European automaker. The platform initially will cover driver information, infotainment and connectivity domains. It will be expanded toward a scalable computing concept that integrates further applications such as additional displays, e-mirrors, augmented reality and driver monitoring in future model years.

Klarna Payments Expands E-commerce Footprint With ACI Worldwide

NAPLES, Fla and STOCKHOLM, Jan. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a leading global provider of real-time electronic payment and banking solutions, today announced an extended partnership with Klarna, leveraging ACI's UP eCommerce Payments solution. This will enable online businesses in 10 major markets, including the U.S. and U.K., to easily integrate Klarna's payment products, and offer shoppers a fast and frictionless checkout process that can improve conversion rates immediately.

Klarna is a leading eCommerce payments provider and fully licensed bank in Europe, which, as it rapidly expands, will benefit from the extensive reach of ACI's global network of payment providers and merchants. ACI's UP eCommerce Payments solution makes it possible to quickly and easily enable Klarna's 'Pay later' and 'Slice it' payment options. The international reach of ACI's solution, which covers 350 alternative payment methods and card acquirers globally, gives merchants the ability to quickly enter new markets and fine-tune their payment setup to meet local needs, delivering a frictionless payments experience for their shoppers.

Klarna's 'Pay later' and 'Slice it' payment options allow consumers to decide when to pay for items once they have received their goods. Instead of a request for credit or debit card details at the point of checkout, consumers are prompted for their email address and postcode, speeding up the checkout process and lowering cart abandonment rates. This gives consumers flexibility and control in managing the terms of their payment according to their needs. For merchants, it is possible to offer these attractive alternatives to card payments without incurring risk ? as Klarna takes on the credit risk assessment, settles with the merchant and then assumes responsibility for payment collection.

Michael Rouse, Chief Commercial Officer, Klarna, said, "We are delighted to deepen and extend our partnership with ACI, benefiting from the flexibility and globality of its unified eCommerce API, which allows for a seamless integration of all Klarna payment options into the checkout process. At Klarna, our unrelenting focus is on delivering the smoothest UX for consumers and giving them flexibility in how they want to pay and when. This drives improved conversion and loyalty for merchants, with no risk attached. Working with ACI is a natural fit."

"A best-in-class integration of Klarna Payments is a logical next step in delivering on our vision of providing more ways to pay, and the strong technical alignment between ACI and Klarna paves the way for future cooperation," said Mike Braatz, Senior Vice President, ACI Worldwide. "Our UP eCommerce Payment solution's open API makes it possible for developers to implement Klarna through the addition of just a few lines of code. Through the simplicity of our solution, we aim to support Klarna's further growth across key European eCommerce markets, and increase its footprint in the highly competitive U.S. market ? where customer experience is increasingly the differentiator."

This solution is available in the following markets: U.S, United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.

ACI Worldwide will demonstrate the ease and simplicity of adding Klarna Payments via its eCommerce solution at the NRF Retail's Big Show in New York City, January 14-16. ACI will be holding in-booth theater presentations at Stand 2753 together with Klarna: 'The Secret to Increasing Sales Conversions Without Sacrificing Margin.' Monday, Jan 15 at 3:10pm and Tuesday, Jan 16 at 1:10pm.

"With our broad range of chipsets, backed by our current and newly developed AI framework, MediaTek is poised to be a full ecosystem AI solution provider."

As the industry leaders in developing low power, high efficiency and highly integrated SoCs, MediaTek is defining itself as the edge AI enabler. MediaTek is building on its history of SoC designs supporting the broadest range of consumer products, from smartphones, routers, and smart TVs, to voice assistants, Wi-Fi cameras and more. MediaTek will showcase its rich ecosystem of MediaTek powered devices including those with existing AI capabilities like:

  • Amazon Echo

TMG'S TRUTH Media Agency Publishes "The State of Programmatic Advertising" Market Research

LONDON, Jan 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --

TRUTH, the first global blockchain-enabled media agency, today announces the findings of research conducted in collaboration with London Research. The research is based on interviews with senior marketers at well-known brands and a global survey of more than 100 senior executives with responsibility for ad buying ? and highlights the crisis in confidence that is undermining the programmatic advertising industry.

The full version can be found at https://truth.agency/truth_pdf.pdf

Key findings:

A lack of value chain transparency as 79% of the respondents indicate they have worries over levels of transparency in programmatic advertising while only 14% strongly agree they have a good understanding of the proportion of their budget that makes it to the consumer.

Low levels of trust in agencies as 36% of the respondents cite 'medium' or 'quite low' levels of trust in their digital media agencies.

Inconsistent measurement is still an issue as 49% of survey respondents cite a lack of consistent metrics and measurement as one of their biggest concerns. The industry still has its work cut out to ensure consistency of standards and metrics, and that these are agreed and adhered to.

Despite concerns about lack of transparency and issues such as ad fraud and brand safety, advertisers are confident that there are ways of addressing the industry's challenges; 77% of the respondents agree that a cleaner supply chain will release time and money for better advertising and innovation. A range of measures are being taken by brands ? both internally and in co-operation with agency and ad tech partners ? to bolster management of programmatic ad buying.

Commenting on the findings, Mary Keane Dawson, CEO of TRUTH said:

"These findings make it more and more apparent the current media model is broken. The industry cannot continue in this way where there is a fundamental lack of trust in the process. As an industry we need to acknowledge these concerns and move towards a model where there is total transparency."

Xeros Introduces Filtration Innovation to Protect the Environment From Microfibers Created From Home Laundry

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Xeros Technologies  (LN: XSG), the developer of polymer technologies which radically improve the sustainability and performance in water-intensive consumer and industrial processes, today announced XFiltra?, a new technology that removes microfibers from home laundry wastewater. Xeros is showcasing this transformational home laundry technology at Booth #42552 in the Sands Expo, Level 2, at the Consumer Electronics Show, January 9-12, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Xeros will also be demonstrating its innovations at the ShowStoppers event at the Wynn Hotel on January 9, 2018.

Every time synthetic clothes are washed hundreds of thousands of tiny pieces of plastic called microfibers are flushed down the drain. They account for a significant amount of the plastic pollution in our oceans, lakes and rivers. The XFiltra? is a filtering technology that greatly reduces the number of microfibers entering the water cycle. The XFiltra features a clever and elegant design for easy cleaning and hassle-free maintenance. Features include: a solution to the rising environmental impact...

Today, about 60% of our clothing contains synthetic fibers including yoga pants, fleece coats, workout gear, and even dress shirts to name a few.  Synthetic fibers enhance the look and the performance of these garment but new research indicates that these fibers may cause an environmental risk.  Every time these garments are washed, they shed tiny plastic microfibers.  A 2016 study pioneered by Patagonia Outfitters and conducted by the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management found that a single fleece jacket can shed up to 250,000 microfibers during a single wash. The fibers are so small that they pass through wastewater treatment facilities and enter our streams, rivers, lakes and oceans where they make their way into the food chain.

Rather than require wastewater treatment plants to spend on massive capital improvement projects, Xeros' filtering innovation, XFiltra, greatly reduces microfibers from entering the environment by addressing the problem directly where the microfibers are created, in the home washing machine.

XFiltra Filtration Technology
XFiltra is compatible with any home washing machine and features a clever and elegant design for easy cleaning and hassle-free maintenance by homeowners.  Filtering home washing machine water has two benefits; protects the environment from harmful microfibers and protects your garments by ensuring they are always washed with cleaner water.

The XFiltra includes an integrated pump, filter and dewatering device.  Unfiltered water enters the XFiltra where the microfibers are trapped and are spun dry into a solid disk for easy removal.  When the XFiltra is ready for cleaning, just open it up, remove the dry microfiber disk, and place it with your everyday trash.

Xeros Technologies Unveils Transformational Sustainable Home Washing Machine at CES 2018

New Technologies Redefine Home Laundry

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Xeros Technologies (LN: XSG), the developer of polymer technologies which radically improve the sustainability and performance in water-intensive consumer and industrial processes, today announced three new technologies that will define the future of laundry in the home: XOrb?, XDrum? and XFiltra?. The combination of these technologies provide consumers with enhanced fabric care, superior cleaning, cost savings and a much more sustainable laundry solution that substantially lowers water usage by up to 50% and addresses the environmental impact of microplastics from synthetic clothing.

The XDrum? saves water and clothes by bringing the latest science and technology to home laundry. The XDrum is an elegant and inexpensive system which enables manufacturers to incorporate the XOrb technology into their home washing machine designs. Features include: Compatible with conventional washers, Gentle on your clothes, Uses less water

Xeros is demonstrating these transformational home laundry technologies at Booth #42552 in the Sands Expo, Level 2, at the Consumer Electronics Show, January 9-12, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Xeros will also be demonstrating its innovations at the ShowStoppers event at the Wynn Hotel on January 9, 2018.

The challenge with home laundry today
When clothes are washed with a traditional home washing machine, they are subjected to extensive mechanical action as well as large amounts of chemicals and hot water. This harsh environment stresses the clothes, causing them to lose their appearance and shortens their lifespan. It is estimated that each laundry cycle creates hundreds of thousands of microfibers that are flushed away in the wastewater and eventually find their way into rivers, lakes and oceans to the detriment of wildlife and our food chain. Xeros' new technologies help to solve these problems.

Xeros has invented three technologies that work seamlessly together to produce amazing washing results at the lowest cost to both the consumer and the environment while extending garment and fabric life.

Xeros Home Laundry Technologies:

XOrb Polymer Technology
At the heart of Xeros' home laundry system is the XOrb polymer technology.  XOrbs represent years of research focused on the needs of the consumer and the need to save a valuable resource ? water. Allowing washing machines to work more efficiently while using just a fraction of the water traditionally needed, XOrbs deliver a range of features including cold water washing, powerful stain removal, easier ironing and garment protection that keep clothes looking newer for longer. XOrbs last for many hundreds of washes before needing to be replaced and recycled.

XDrum In-Drum Technology
The XDrum is an elegant and inexpensive system which enables manufacturers to incorporate XOrb technology into home washing machine designs. This means that for the first time, manufacturers will be able to offer consumers the many benefits of washing with XOrbs that have only been available to commercial laundry operations.

XFiltra Filtration Technology
The XFiltra is a filtering technology that greatly reduces the number of microfibers entering the water cycle. The XFiltra features a clever and elegant design for easy cleaning and hassle-free maintenance. It means that there is finally a solution that addresses the rising environmental impact that harmful microfibers are having on marine life. See related news Xeros Introduces Filtration Innovation to Protect the Environment From Microfibers Created From Home Laundry.

Three technologies working together in one solution
When a wash cycle is started, XOrbs are added from inside the XDrum to mix with the clothes along with a small amount of water. The XOrbs gently massage the garments, loosening dirt and stains while reducing the tendency for the garments to crease.  The minimal cold water required for the wash cycle is filtered with the XFiltra, reducing microfibers that go down the drain. When the wash cycle is completed, the XOrbs automatically return to a holding area inside of the XDrum and are ready to be used again for the next wash.  Clothes can then be removed like a traditional washing machine, but with cleaner and better results.

"Our core purpose at Xeros is to give washing machine manufacturers and home laundry customers a washing solution that delivers unparalleled cleaning results and garment care, at the lowest cost, and with the greatest sustainability for our planet," said Mark Nichols, CEO, Xeros. "We are delighted to be unveiling at CES our completely new, simple, and transformational technologies that deliver unprecedented results to the world's consumers."
