    Alliance Data Announces New Stock Repurchase Program$500 Million Available for Repurchases during 2017

    PLANO, Texas, Jan. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Alliance Data Systems Corporation , a leading global provider of data-driven marketing and loyalty solutions, today announced that its board of directors has approved a new stock repurchase program to acquire up to $500 million of the Company's common stock during 2017. The new repurchase program replaces the existing program, which expired at the end of 2016.

    Repurchases will be financed through free cash flow. The Company expects to maintain moderate levels of debt over the course of the repurchase program, providing flexibility to pursue tuck-in acquisitions, portfolio purchases and/or international loyalty coalition program expansions.

    Under the repurchase program the Company is authorized to repurchase shares in open market purchases as well as in privately negotiated transactions from time to time through December 31, 2017. Stock purchased as part of this program will be held as treasury stock. The repurchase program's terms will comply with SEC Rule 10b-18, and the program is subject to market conditions, applicable legal requirements, contractual obligations, and other factors. The repurchase program does not obligate the Company to acquire any specific number of shares and may be suspended or terminated at any time.

    LAS VEGAS, Jan. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- At CES(R) 2017 today, Qualcomm Incorporated announced that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., has introduced the Company's newest premium-tier mobile platform, the Qualcomm(R) Snapdragon(TM) 835 processor with X16 LTE. The Snapdragon 835 processor is the first mobile platform to be commercially manufactured using the 10nm FinFET process node, allowing for breakthrough performance and superior power efficiency. The Snapdragon 835 is designed to support next-generation entertainment experiences and connected cloud services for premium-tier consumer and enterprise devices, including smartphones, VR/AR head-mounted displays, IP cameras, tablets, mobile PCs and other devices running a variety of OS's including Android and Windows 10 with support for legacy Win32 apps.

    Key components of the Snapdragon 835 processor include an integrated X16 LTE modem for Gigabit Class LTE connectivity, integrated 2x2 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth(R) 5, and optional 802.11ad for Multi-gigabit connectivity.     and consumes 25 percent less power compared to our previous generation
    flagship processor, which equates to longer battery life and thinner

    power, while the integrated Hexagon 682 DSP adds support for TensorFlow
    and Halide frameworks. The combination of the CPU, GPU, DSP and software

    BOTHELL, Wash., Jan. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- BioLife Solutions, Inc. , a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of proprietary clinical grade cell and tissue hypothermic storage and cryopreservation freeze media and a related cloud hosted biologistics cold chain management app for smart shippers ("BioLife") today announced the restructuring of its biologistex CCM LLC joint venture (JV) formed with SAVSU Technologies LLC ("SAVSU"), to develop and commercialize the evo Smart Shipper and related biologistex Cold Chain Management SaaS.

    Pursuant to the restructuring, BioLife will convert its outstanding loan to the JV into a capital contribution and SAVSU will contribute all of its cold chain related operations, technology, IP and assets to the JV.

    BioLife will continue to market and sell evo subscriptions and provide ongoing fulfillment and customer support in exchange for a 20% commission on revenue from its sales and marketing efforts and a fixed monthly fee for the first year. In addition, certain BioLife employees have been transitioned to the JV, as well as related costs associated with evo and biologistex product development and marketing. BioLife's ownership interest in the JV will initially be reduced from 52% to 45%, and the JV's operating results will no longer be consolidated with BioLife's results. Mike Rice, BioLife CEO, will remain a member of the JV's Management Committee.

    LAS VEGAS, Jan. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, Ericsson, and AT&T today announced plans to conduct interoperability testing and over-the-air field trials based on the expected 5G New Radio (NR) specifications being developed by 3GPP, which will form the basis of the global standards. The trials intend to help move the mobile ecosystem to faster 5G deployment based on standards-compliant 5G NR infrastructure and devices once 3GPP completes the first release of the official specifications, which is expected as part of Release 15.

    The trials will support operation in millimeter Wave (mmWave) spectrum, aiming to accelerate commercial deployments in the 28GHz and 39GHz bands. In the trials, the Companies will showcase new 5G NR mmWave technologies that utilize wide bandwidths available at these higher frequency bands to increase network capacity and expect to achieve multi-gigabit per second data rates. These technologies will be important to meeting the increasing consumer connectivity requirements for emerging consumer mobile broadband experiences such as virtual reality, augmented reality and connected cloud services. Additionally, the proliferation of 5G NR mmWave technology can make it more cost-effective and easier for multi-gigabit Internet service to reach more homes and businesses.

It will also make use of scalable OFDM-based waveforms and a new flexible framework design that are also expected to be part of the 5G NR specifications. The trials are expected to yield valuable insight into the unique challenges of integrating mmWave technologies into mobile networks and devices.

    Consortium of Leading Automotive and Telecom Companies Host 3GPP Release 14 Cellular-V2X Technology Field Trial in Germany--Audi, Ericsson, Qualcomm Technologies, SWARCO Traffic Systems and the University of Kaiserslautern to Begin Testing Program in 2017--

    LAS VEGAS, Jan. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- At CES(R) 2017 today, AUDI AG , Ericsson , Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated , SWARCO Traffic Systems and the University of Kaiserslautern, announced the formation of Connected Vehicle to Everything of Tomorrow (ConVeX) - a consortium to carry out the first announced Cellular-V2X (C-V2X) trial based upon the 3(rd) Generation Partnership Project's (3GPP) Release 14, which includes Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication. The trial efforts are expected to focus on Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) and Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) direct communication, as well as Vehicle-to-Network (V2N) wide area communications. ConVeX will be executed by a cross-industry consortium that brings diverse expertise to the trial. ConVeX will be co-funded by the participating organizations and the German Federal Ministry of Transportation and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) within the scope of the "Automated and Connected Driving on Digital Test Fields in Germany" funding guidelines.

    The goal of the trial is to demonstrate the benefits of using a unified C-V2X connectivity platform, as defined by 3GPP Release 14, for the connected vehicle of tomorrow as well as to showcase C-V2X range, reliability and latency advantage for real-time V2X communications. Additionally, the trial aims to highlight new use cases that help support traffic flow optimization, improve safety and pave the path to automated driving. ConVeX plans to use the results of the trial to inform regulators, provide important inputs to ongoing global standardization work and shape a path for further development and future evolution of V2X cellular technology, which includes an evolutionary transition towards 5G New Radio (NR), the new global standard for 5G being defined in 3GPP.

    During the trial, ConVeX expects to establish a field test environment and conduct field tests to determine compelling C-V2X benefits by utilizing V2V/V2I/V2P direct communications with 4G/5G LTE-based vehicle-to-network (V2N) technology, evaluating radio communications, performance and user experience under real traffic conditions while leveraging upper layer stacks developed by the automotive industry in ETSI-ITS. C-V2X Direct Communications operating on 5.9GHz ITS spectrum are then expected to be integrated into an Ericsson 5G test network covering highways, roads and cities in Germany.

    V2X technologies continue to play a key role in advancing the vision of autonomous vehicles. While advancements in Radar, Lidar, and camera systems bring automated driving a step closer to commercialization, these sensors are limited to line-of-sight (LOS) data collection. Sensor fusion with V2X is expected to complement those capabilities and provide 360 degree non-line-of-sight (NLOS) awareness, extending a vehicle's ability to see and hear further down the road, even at blind intersections or in bad weather conditions. Combined with high-precision Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), V2X technologies are expected to allow vehicles to share information with each other, as well as with infrastructure, and to pedestrian smartphones.

    The hub of this technology is the mobile phone. The Chrysler Portal concept is engineered to seamlessly detect and connect with passengers' mobile devices, expanding the social canvas.

    Recognition and user authentication are the next level of personalization and a primary driving factor for the user experience. Facial recognition and voice biometric technologies work together to provide a seamless personalization experience. As a result, all passengers can set up individual and group settings for an enjoyable, customized experience. For example, facial recognition tells the Chrysler Portal who is in the vehicle and how to automatically configure preferred settings, such as music, lighting, vehicle temperature, heated or cooled seats, etc. Internet cloud-based technologies, combined with facial and voice recognition, keep those preferred settings in sync should a passenger move to another seat.

    Accessing technology inside the vehicle is naturally intuitive using a blend of voice controls with familiar touch controls. With an array of microphones inside the Portal concept, voice control is available to all occupants. Advanced speech software can identify who is speaking to accurately determine an action, such as which display screen to access. Embedded interior and connected portable device cameras also facilitate conversations and interactions.

    Want to play music tailored for an individual, such as a child? Simply say, "Play Johnny's 'Naptime Favorites' playlist." Personalized audio zones enable each passenger to listen to their own content isolated to their seat without the need for headphones.

    Facial recognition enables the Chrysler Portal concept to track the driver's directional gaze, as a result, the intensity of the high-mount display screen can automatically dim or increase to help reduce eye strain. If the driver is looking at a specific location on the display and a critical notification occurs, such as an oncoming emergency vehicle, a message pop-up in the area where the driver is looking helps reduce reaction time.

    Turn road trips into social memories

    Social media plays a large role in the lives of many millennials. In the Chrysler Portal concept, sharing content between passengers is as easy as a swipe to the right. A personal tablet or mobile device becomes a community display screen via a docking station in the Chrysler Portal's headliner, making it easily viewable by second- and third-row passengers. Media, such as music, images and videos, from personal devices can be shared with a simple upward swipe to the display screen. The community display is ideal for road trips with family and friends. At a glance, infographics show the progress of the vehicle to the trip destination.

    The Chrysler Portal concept also takes into consideration each passenger's media preferences and enables them to contribute to the road trip experience. Using predictive intelligence, passenger preferences can be merged to create an overall community setting that can help the group find destinations and plan the best route, select a restaurant, and play music and videos everyone can enjoy.

    Once a route is set, it can be added to the community display so all passengers can monitor the trip's progress. At the lunch break, passengers can use the technology in the Chrysler Portal concept to order from a quick service restaurant via voice or touch screen without rolling down the window or leaving the vehicle, a real convenience in inclement weather. If someone is not sure what to order, the system's intelligence can offer suggestions based on the passenger's personal settings. With e-commerce, there is no need for cash or a credit card as the payment can be securely transacted from the vehicle while in transit.

    Once at the destination, interior and exterior cameras can capture the moment with a selfie, which is then automatically downloaded to everyone's personal device and can be shared via social media.

    Affordable, upgradeable technology designed to be added as needed

    Keeping the user experience affordable, the Chrysler Portal concept's in-vehicle technology is designed to be adaptable and upgradeable. Cost-conscious consumers are able to decide which technology they want to add and when they want to integrate it into their vehicle, such as adding technologies to meet the ongoing needs of a new family. For example, the vehicle's short-range wireless network enables parents to connect a baby monitor camera to a seat, with the image appearing on the high-mount display.

    Another way consumers could integrate their personal devices is by using the Chrysler Portal Concept Companion App. Once downloaded to a mobile device, the companion app has the ability to customize vehicle lighting, control vehicle and home settings, lock/unlock doors and operate other functions from any location.

    Advanced driving assistance

    A key element of the Chrysler Portal concept's user experience is the graphic-rich, high-quality information available to the driver.

    The hub of this information is the high-mount display, located above where a traditional instrument panel would be placed. Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) technology in the display makes the screen brighter and sharper. The technology embedded in the Chrysler Portal collects a wide spectrum of visual, sensor-based and infrastructure data; organizes and configures the information for display; and tailors the presentation to keep the driver's attention on the highest priority functions.

    The display, which spans nearly the entire length of the instrument panel, is positioned higher intentionally for greater visibility and to aid the driver keeping his/her eyes on the road. Maintaining visibility with the horizon helps reduce the possibility of motion sickness while interacting with the 3-D graphics, especially if Level 3 autonomous driving mode is engaged.

    The length of the screen enables three zones of information. The first section of the screen, located in front of the driver, offers traditional vehicle information, such as speed. The middle section displays a 360-degree situational awareness view, such as surrounding vehicles, GPS information and points of interest, and can be viewed by other vehicle occupants. The third section can be used for media sharing, status updates of passengers, such as their seat temperature, music or videos being played and a view of them.

    During Level 3 autonomous driving, the display communicates the status of the vehicle and the surrounding environment. Should the vehicle come to a stop or perform a quick maneuver, the viewable display makes it clear to all occupants the status of the vehicle.

    The Chrysler Portal concept is constantly using Vehicle-to-X (V2X) communication that enables the vehicle to "talk" with the public infrastructure, internet and other vehicles via an array of sensors. For example, if an approaching ambulance is out of sight, V2X systems will notify the vehicle that the ambulance is approaching. Graphics on the high-mount display will communicate the oncoming ambulance by simulating its approach and direction, and the audio system will provide cues that the vehicle is approaching.

    Spacious and modern, the interior features soft, clean, sculptural lines that are colored in a mix of neutral and grey hues accented by jewel tones; the interior space takes advantage of a tasteful and elegant mix of textures and materials.

    Premium seating is standard for all occupants with thin-design seats that fold flat, fold up and slide fore/aft on a track system for ultimate flexibility. The seats mount to tracks embedded in the floor. This enables the seats to move the full length of the vehicle and, if needed, to be removed easily from the rear of the vehicle.

    The Chrysler Portal concept takes a new perspective with a clean, simple yet strong design statement amplified by refined lines along the body and a strong, planted stance.

    Featuring a mono-volume form that "shrink wraps" the battery-electric vehicle (BEV) powertrain and interior packaging, the Portal's exterior design is anchored by illuminated, portal-shaped side openings with articulating front and rear doors for easy loading and unloading of people and cargo.

    The lighting on the Chrysler Portal concept is an interactive experience, as well as a communication tool. The vehicle is equipped with full-color, changing LED lighting on the front, side portals and rear. Not only can the light take on different colors, it can have a swiping or animated appearance. Interactive ground projection and portal lighting are available in infinite colors that can be tailored for personal, business or drive settings, such as when the vehicle is parked, locked/unlocked or in autonomous mode.

    The headlamps and tail lamps feature next-generation Thin Lens LED technology with an adaptive driving beam to provide increased safety through improved visibility. A full-length clear polycarbonate roof panel visually expands the vehicle's interior space and admits natural light to all occupants.

    Engineered for future developments
    An all-electric vehicle, the Chrysler Portal concept is propelled by a single electric motor driving the front wheels. A lithium-ion battery pack, rated at around 100 kWh, is integrated into the vehicle underbody, which increases structural rigidity and provides a low center of gravity, which enhances handling and ride comfort. The Chrysler Portal concept is estimated to have more than 250 miles of range on a full charge.

    The integrated charging port, located at the front of the vehicle, uses the industry-accepted Combined Charging System (CCS) plug for energy and communication between the vehicle and charging equipment. DC Fast Charging at 350 kW enables the battery pack to be recharged for 150 miles of range in less than 20 minutes. The Chrysler winged badge on the front fascia serves as a charging indicator light.

    Wecast Network Provides Update on M.Y. Products, LLC Transaction

    NEW YORK, Jan. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Wecast Network, Inc. ("Wecast" or the "Company" or "WCST"), announced today that its transaction with Sun Video Group HK Limited ("SVG") for 51% purchase of M.Y. Products, LLC ("MYP"), a video commerce and supply chain management operator, is progressing in an encouraging manner and based on the few remaining deliverables, is indicating a completion timeframe around the Chinese New Year (end of January).

    As a reminder, through this transaction, Wecast is gaining both a M2B or Manufacturer to Business, supply chain management operator as well as a M2C or Manufacturer to Consumer, video commerce operator, both of which will offer a full suite of pre-and post-sale services including administration, product management, logistics, financing, branding, licensing support and marketing for Chinese manufacturers exporting to the U.S. MYP assists Chinese manufacturer's revenue and profitability by reducing exorbitant middlemen costs that exist today in the distribution chain and allowing some of those savings to be reapportioned to brand development and design. In December alone (based on recently provided data from MYP management), over 160 exclusive agreements have been signed with leading Chinese manufacturers for US distribution.

    As previously mentioned, SVG guarantees that MYP will achieve $200 million in cumulative revenues and gain profitability, within 12 months of closing the transaction. If MYP fails to meet the guarantee, then SVG shall forfeit back to the Company the YOD common stock it received, on a pro-rata basis. The shares will be held in escrow until the guarantee is met.

    This deal with MYP is contingent upon, among other things, both a fairness opinion and third-party valuation.
