    Tyco Cares Foundation Expands Programs Focusing on Youth Education in Latin America and China

    WASHINGTON, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Tyco announced today that its Tyco Cares Foundation will expand two key programs in Latin America and China that provide access to educational opportunities for young people, reflecting the foundation's commitment to support safer, smarter communities in areas in which Tyco operates.

    In Latin America, the foundation will expand its Security and Technology Training for Youth Employment program, which prepares young people in developing communities for careers in the security industry. The highly successful program, which has been operating in Rio de Janeiro since 2011, will expand to Sao Paulo and Santiago this year and Argentina in 2017.

    In China, Tyco Cares and Tyco's Asia business have grown their partnership with the Dandelion School in Beijing, which educates children of migrant workers, through a USD 86,000 (RMB 570,000) donation of a fire alarm system and water sprinkler products for the school's new campus, set to open next year. Migrant workers and their families make up about 10 percent of the Chinese population, and these children face major barriers to education, such as poverty and an unstable lifestyle. Since the partnership with the school began in 2013, Tyco's Asia business and its employees have donated time, money and products totaling an additional USD 25,000 (RMB 167,000).

    Frankly Closes Previously Announced Financing with Raycom Media

    SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Frankly Inc. (Frankly), a leading content, engagement and monetization platform for brands and media companies, has confirmed the closing of its financing with Raycom Media, Inc. (Raycom), a leading U.S. broadcaster, as previously announced on August 18, 2016.

    Frankly received a non-revolving term line of credit from Raycom in the principal amount of US$14.5 million and, subject to approval of Raycom, an additional available US$1.5 million non-revolving line of credit. In addition, Raycom has converted US$1.0 million of its existing US$4.0 million promissory note from Frankly into 2,553,400 Frankly common shares and Frankly issued 14,809,720 warrants to Raycom entitling the holder of each warrant to acquire one common share of Frankly upon exercise of each warrant at a price per common share equal to CDN$0.50. The common shares and warrants issued to Raycom are subject to a four-month statutory hold period expiring on January 1, 2017. As a result of the transactions with Raycom described above (the "Transactions"), Raycom currently holds 9,304,532 voting shares of Frankly, which collectively represents approximately 27% of the issued and outstanding voting shares of Frankly on a non-diluted basis.

    Pursuant to Multilateral Instrument 61-101 - Protection of Minority Security Holders in Special Transactions ("MI 61-101"), the Transactions were "related party transactions". The Transactions were exempt from the valuation and minority shareholder approval provisions of MI 61-101 pursuant to Sections 5.5(e) and 5.7(1)(c) thereof as the Transactions were supported by an arms-length control person (being SKP America, LLC). The Transactions closed in less than 21 days due to Frankly's immediate need to address the repayment of US$15.0 million of promissory notes issued by Frankly, which shorter period is both reasonable and necessary in the circumstances.

    AT&T Networks Prepared For Tropical Storm HermineCompany Encourages Customers to Prepare, Offers Communication Tips

    WILMINGTON, N.C., Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* is ready for Tropical Storm Hermine with our disaster response equipment and personnel on standby.

    AT&T has started its storm preparedness process as we closely monitor Tropical Storm Hermine. The storm is expected to impact the southeastern U.S. during the next 48 hours. AT&T has topped-off fuel at generators positioned at cell sites, installed and tested high-capacity back-up batteries at cell sites, installed "Quick Connect Generator Plugs" near cell sites. It has also staged other emergency response equipment in strategic locations. Its national reliability center is monitoring outages for quick action.

    AT&T has also improved the network redundancy in storm-prone areas. It has installed more generators at critical cell towers and switching facilities, and moving electronics key to network operations above expected flood levels.

    --  Keep your mobile phone battery charged. In case of a power outage, have
    another way to charge your phone like an extra battery, car charger or
    device-charging accessory. Sales tax holidays are a great time to stock
    up on cell phone accessories.
    --  Keep your mobile devices dry. The biggest threat to your device during a
    hurricane is water.  Keep it safe from the elements by storing it in a
    baggie or some other type of protective covering, like an Otterbox phone
    cover.
    --  Have a family communications plan. Choose someone out of the area as a
    central contact.   Make sure all family members know who to contact if
    they get separated. Most importantly, practice your emergency plan in
    advance.
    --  Program all of your emergency contact numbers and e-mail addresses into
    your mobile phone. Numbers should include the police department, fire
    station and hospital, as well as your family members.
    --  Forward your home number to your mobile number in the event of an
    evacuation. Call forwarding is based out of the telephone central
    office. This means you will get calls from your landline phone even if
    your local telephone service is disrupted. If the central office is not
    operational, services such as voicemail and call forwarding may be
    useful.
    --  Track the storm and access weather information on your mobile device.
    Many homes lose power during severe weather. If you have a working
    mobile device with Internet access, you can watch weather reports
    through services like AT&T U-verse Live TV . You can also or stay
    updated with local radar and severe weather alerts through My-Cast((R))
    Weather, if you subscribe to those services.
    --  Camera phones provide assistance. If you have a camera phone, take,
    store and send photos and video clips of damage to your insurance
    company.
    --  Use location-based technology.  Services like AT&T Navigator and AT&T
    FamilyMap can help you find evacuation routes or avoid traffic from
    downed trees or power lines. They can also track a family member's
    wireless device if you get separated.
    --  Limit social media activity. Keep social media activity to a minimum
    during and after a storm to limit network congestion and allow for
    emergency communications to go through.

    --  Set up a call-forwarding service to a backup location. Set up a single
    or multiple hotline number(s) for employees, their families, customers
    and partners so they all know about the business situation and emergency
    plan.
    --  Back up data to the Cloud. Routinely back up files to an off-site
    location. Services such as Mobile Workplace are great for small
    businesses.
    --  Outline detailed plans for evacuation and shelter-in-place. Practice
    these plans (employee training, etc.). Establish a backup location for
    your business and meeting place for all employees.
    --  Assemble a crisis-management team. Coordinate efforts with neighboring
    businesses and building management. Disasters that affect your suppliers
    also affect your business. Outline a plan for supply chain continuity
    for business needs.
    --  Consider a back-up cellular network. Services like AT&T Remote Mobility
    Zone protect critical communications for businesses. If a disaster

    During evacuations, the storm event and its aftermath, network resources will likely be taxed. To help ensure that emergency personnel have open lines, keep these tips in mind:

    --  Text messaging. During an emergency situation, text messages may go
    through more quickly than voice calls because they require fewer network
    resources. All of AT&T's wireless devices are text messaging capable.
    Depending on your text or data plan, additional charges may apply.
    --  Be prepared for high call volume. During an emergency, many people are
    trying to use their phones at the same time. The increased calling
    volume may create network congestion, leading to "fast busy" signals on
    your wireless phone or a slow dial tone on your landline phone. If this
    happens, hang up, wait several seconds and then try the call again. This
    allows your original call data to clear the network before you try
    again.
    --  Keep non-emergency calls to a minimum, and limit your calls to the most
    important ones. If there is severe weather, chances are many people will
    be attempting to place calls to loved ones, friends and business
    associates.

    For 10th consecutive year, Verizon increases quarterly dividend

    NEW YORK, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of Verizon Communications Inc. today declared a quarterly dividend of 57.75 cents per outstanding share, an increase of 1.25 cents per share, or 2.2 percent, from the previous quarter.

    On an annual basis, this increases Verizon's dividend by 5 cents per share from $2.26 to $2.31 per share.

    The quarterly dividend is payable on Nov. 1, 2016, to Verizon shareowners of record at the close of business on Oct. 7, 2016.

    This is the 10th consecutive year Verizon's Board has approved a quarterly dividend increase.

    Ellis joined Verizon in 2013, after having spent 15 years at Tyson Foods, Inc. in a variety of roles. At Tyson, he was vice president and treasurer, responsible for financing, cash management, insurance and credit. From 2005 to 2007, Ellis was vice president - Country Manager, with responsibility for all aspects of Tyson's Mexico subsidiary.

    AT&T Networks Prepared For Tropical Storm HermineCompany Encourages Customers to Prepare, Offers Communication Tips

    COLUMBIA, S.C., Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* is ready for Tropical Storm Hermine with our disaster response equipment and personnel on standby.

    AT&T has started its storm preparedness process as we closely monitor Tropical Storm Hermine. The storm is expected to impact the southeastern U.S. over the next 48 hours. AT&T has topped-off fuel at generators positioned at cell sites, installed and tested high-capacity back-up batteries at cell sites, and installed "Quick Connect Generator Plugs" near cell sites. It has also staged other emergency response equipment in strategic locations. Its national reliability center is monitoring outages for quick action.

    AT&T has also improved the network redundancy in storm-prone areas. It has installed more generators at critical cell towers and switching facilities, and is moving electronics key to network operations above expected flood levels.

    hurricane is water.  Keep it safe from the elements by storing it in a

    --  Have a family communications plan. Choose someone out of the area as a
    central contact.  Make sure all family members know who to contact if
    they get separated. Most importantly, practice your emergency plan in
    advance.
    --  Program all of your emergency contact numbers and e-mail addresses into
    your mobile phone. Numbers should include the police department, fire
    station and hospital, as well as your family members.
    --  Forward your home number to your mobile number in the event of an
    evacuation. Call forwarding is based out of the telephone central
    office. This means you will get calls from your landline phone even if
    your local telephone service is disrupted. If the central office is not
    operational, services such as voicemail and call forwarding may be
    useful.
    --  Track the storm and access weather information on your mobile device.
    Many homes lose power during severe weather. If you have a working
    mobile device with Internet access, you can watch weather reports
    through services like AT&T U-verse Live TV. You can also stay updated
    with local radar and severe weather alerts through My-Cast((R)) Weather,
    if you subscribe to those services.
    --  Camera phones provide assistance. If you have a camera phone, take,
    store and send photos and video clips of damage to your insurance
    company.
    --  Use location-based technology.  Services like AT&T Navigator and AT&T

    downed trees or power lines. They can also track a family member's

    AT&T Networks Prepared For Tropical Storm HermineCompany Encourages Customers to Prepare, Offers Communication Tips

    ATLANTA, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* is ready for Tropical Storm Hermine with our disaster response equipment and personnel on standby.

    AT&T has started its storm preparedness process as we closely monitor Tropical Storm Hermine. The storm is expected to impact the southeastern U.S. over the next 48 hours. AT&T has topped-off fuel at generators positioned at cell sites, installed and tested high-capacity back-up batteries at cell sites, installed "Quick Connect Generator Plugs" near cell sites. It has also staged other emergency response equipment in strategic locations. Its national reliability center is monitoring outages for quick action.

    AT&T has also improved the network redundancy in storm-prone areas. It has installed more generators at critical cell towers and switching facilities, and moving electronics key to network operations above expected flood levels.

    "Customers rely on us, especially during major storms," said Bill Leahy, president, AT&T Georgia. "That's why we practice readiness drills and simulations through the year. We do all we can to have our networks prepared when severe weather strikes. We've worked for the past few days to position equipment and crews to respond to the storm. But if service goes down, we'll do all we can to get it back up as fast as possible."

    The AT&T National Disaster Recovery (NDR) program is one of the industry's largest and most advanced disaster response programs. It includes more than 320 technology and equipment trailers that can be quickly deployed to respond to disasters. The NDR team works with local AT&T network personnel, regional emergency operations centers and local response centers to keep service going until permanent repairs are made.

    Just as we prepare our networks and personnel, AT&T encourages customers to consider the following recommendations in the wake of the storm.

    Customer Tips:

    --  Keep your mobile phone battery charged. In case of a power outage, have
    another way to charge your phone like an extra battery, car charger or
    device-charging accessory. Sales tax holidays are a great time to stock
    up on cell phone accessories.
    --  Keep your mobile devices dry. The biggest threat to your device during a
    hurricane is water.  Keep it safe from the elements by storing it in a
    baggie or some other type of protective covering, like an Otterbox phone
    cover.
    --  Have a family communications plan. Choose someone out of the area as a
    central contact.   Make sure all family members know who to contact if
    they get separated. Most importantly, practice your emergency plan in
    advance.
    --  Program all of your emergency contact numbers and e-mail addresses into
    your mobile phone. Numbers should include the police department, fire
    station and hospital, as well as your family members.
    --  Forward your home number to your mobile number in the event of an
    evacuation. Call forwarding is based out of the telephone central
    office. This means you will get calls from your landline phone even if
    your local telephone service is disrupted. If the central office is not
    operational, services such as voicemail and call forwarding may be
    useful.
    --  Track the storm and access weather information on your mobile device.
    Many homes lose power during severe weather. If you have a working
    mobile device with Internet access, you can watch weather reports
    through services like AT&T U-verse Live TV . You can also or stay
    updated with local radar and severe weather alerts through My-Cast((R))
    Weather, if you subscribe to those services.
    --  Camera phones provide assistance. If you have a camera phone, take,
    store and send photos and video clips of damage to your insurance
    company.
    --  Use location-based technology.  Services like AT&T Navigator and AT&T
    FamilyMap can help you find evacuation routes or avoid traffic from
    downed trees or power lines. They can also track a family member's
    wireless device if you get separated.
    --  Limit social media activity. Keep social media activity to a minimum
    during and after a storm to limit network congestion and allow for

    --  Set up a call-forwarding service to a backup location. Set up a single
    or multiple hotline number(s) for employees, their families, customers
    and partners so they all know about the business situation and emergency

    also affect your business. Outline a plan for supply chain continuity
    for business needs.

    disables primary communications networks, the back-up cellular network

    Keeping the lines open for emergencies

    During evacuations, the storm event and its aftermath, network resources will likely be taxed. To help ensure that emergency personnel have open lines, keep these tips in mind:

    --  Text messaging. During an emergency situation, text messages may go
    through more quickly than voice calls because they require fewer network
    resources. All of AT&T's wireless devices are text messaging capable.
    Depending on your text or data plan, additional charges may apply.
    --  Be prepared for high call volume. During an emergency, many people are
    trying to use their phones at the same time. The increased calling
    volume may create network congestion, leading to "fast busy" signals on
    your wireless phone or a slow dial tone on your landline phone. If this
    happens, hang up, wait several seconds and then try the call again. This
    allows your original call data to clear the network before you try
    again.
    --  Keep non-emergency calls to a minimum, and limit your calls to the most
    important ones. If there is severe weather, chances are many people will
    be attempting to place calls to loved ones, friends and business

    IBM Study: Hybrid Clouds Dominate -- Enable Companies to Innovate, Exceed Expectations

    ARMONK, N.Y., Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Almost every company is using the cloud, but not for everything, finds a new IBM study. Seventy-eight percent of respondents say their cloud initiatives are coordinated or fully integrated, compared to just 34 percent in 2012. And, among high performing organizations, that number climbs to 83 percent. At the same time, nearly half of workloads -- 45 percent -- are expected to remain on-premises with dedicated servers.

Conducted by the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV), the study finds that the top reasons executives cite for adopting hybrid cloud solutions are: lowering total cost of ownership (54 percent), facilitating innovation (42 percent), enhancing operational efficiencies (42 percent) and enabling them to more readily meet customer expectations (40 percent).
