    AT&T Launches College Mobile Applications Developer Contest'Big Mobile On Campus Challenge' to Award $10,000 Scholarship to Winner

    SAN ANTONIO, April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. today announced the launch of a unique contest for full-time college students and staff to develop innovative and creative mobile applications that enhance academic performance, build campus community and help to improve campus security operations.

    Called the Big Mobile On Campus Challenge, the contest is open to all full-time students and full- or part-time staff at a four-year public or private accredited, nonprofit college or university in the continental United States. Entrants must be 18 or older and legal residents of the continental U.S.

    "Life at light speed is an everyday routine for most college students, whether they are rushing to class, cramming for a test or hanging out with their friends," said Bill Archer, chief marketing officer for AT&T Global Business Services. "Big Mobile On Campus Challenge is a way to encourage some of the brightest minds at our colleges and universities to develop the next great mobile applications to help students be more productive, as well as enhance their lifestyle."

    The contest opens April 1, 2008, and closes Aug. 31, 2008. After a judging period in September, the winner will be announced in October and receive a $10,000 scholarship -- given to an individual or divided among the team members who developed the application -- at the EduCause Annual Conference Oct. 28 - 31, 2008, in Orlando, Fla.

    If a staff member wins the award as an individual or is on the winning team, she or he will receive cash compensation. The winner(s) will also receive a device of choice for each entrant and an all-expense-paid trip to EduCause.

    The Big Mobile On Campus Challenge seeks applications in three categories: social networking, academics, and safety and security. AT&T will choose three finalists in the three categories and then pick the top three overall. The two runners-up -- either as an individual or team -- will receive a $5,000 scholarship and device of choice for each entrant.

    The contest is just one example of AT&T's efforts to bring new and exciting applications and services to its wireless customers. This week at CTIA -- the wireless industry's annual conference -- AT&T is holding its third annual Fast-Pitch program, in which more than 100 wireless developers present new applications for consideration to be placed on AT&T's network.

    Stautberg to Become CFO at Scripps When Separation Is Completed in July

    CINCINNATI, April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Timothy E. Stautberg, who for nearly 10 years has served as The E. W. Scripps Company's primary liaison with institutional investors and financial analysts, will become chief financial officer and a senior vice president of the company when its pending separation is completed later this year.

    In his new role, Stautberg will have oversight responsibility for the company's accounting, treasury, tax, risk management, investor relations and information technology functions. He also will take a lead role in strategic planning for the media company, which, after the separation, will focus on local print, television and Internet businesses. Today, that includes daily newspapers, broadcast television stations, their local Web brands, and a subsidiary that licenses and syndicates comic strips and other creative properties.

The separation is expected to be completed by July 1.

    Stautberg has served as The E. W. Scripps Company's vice president of communications and investor relations since 1999. In that role he has had oversight responsibilities for the company's internal and external communications functions, including serving as liaison with institutional investors and financial analysts.

    During his tenure as the company's investor relations officer, Scripps was recognized nationally in 2005 and 2006 for excellence by IR Magazine, a trade publication for investor relations professionals. The company also was recognized in 2007 and 2008 as one of "America's Most Shareholder Friendly Companies" by Institutional Investor.

    Stautberg joined Scripps in 1990 as part of the company's executive development program. In 1992, he was assigned to work at the Scripps newspaper in Denver, the Rocky Mountain News. As assistant to the publisher at the Rocky Mountain News from 1995 to 1997, he was responsible for strategic and financial planning. The electronics recycling drive, which spans five sites over two days, is forecast to be the largest in Minnesota history. Waste Management and Sony Electronics, in association with Best Buy, are sponsoring these recycling events in honor of Earth Day.

    Locations for the event were carefully selected to provide residents with the most convenient drop-off location options. Each resident who recycles an old electronic device at one of these events will receive a discount coupon to attend EarthFest, A Party for the Planet, on the following weekend, April 19th and 20th at the Minnesota Zoo in Eagan, Minn.

By recycling old electronics products, useful materials -- such as glass, plastic and metals -- can be collected and re-used in the manufacture of other products.

    China Sun Group High-Tech Co. Develops Eco-Friendly Exhaust Filter to Improve Production by 35%

    LIAONING PROVINCE, China, April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- China Sun Group High-Tech Co. (BULLETIN BOARD: CSGH) ("China Sun Group"), which through its majority-owned subsidiary Da Lian Xin Yang High-Tech Development Co. Ltd ("DLX") has the second largest cobalt series production capacity in the People's Republic of China ("PRC"), announced today that it has developed a new white steel filter that not only improves air quality in its production facilities by approximately 30%, but also limits the amount of cobalt oxide lost during production.

    Cobalt oxalate is a raw material used in the formation of cobaltosic oxide. Under normal manufacturing conditions, 3.15 tons of cobalt oxalate may be transformed into approximately 1 ton of cobaltosic oxide. In the process of sintering, impurities turn into new oxides when exposed to air and are released through the exhaust system. China Sun Group's new white steel filter is located at the bottom part of the exhaust. This filter has a 600-meshwork and a water system. Once the newly formed oxide meets the water meshwork, it drops into a white steel deposit channel. The oxide can then be reclaimed and reused by heating it in a high temperature furnace. This filter may generate approximately 35% more renewable cobalt oxide from the production process.

Our internal technical staff has created a white steel water circle filter that offers significant environmental and economic advantages over conventional exhaust systems.
